Good Rental Tips For Your Mexico Vacation

If you are a frequent traveler and have rented a car in Chicago or Los Angeles or anywhere in the United States, you will easily understand that headaches and hassles is sometimes a commonplace with such a transaction.
when renting a car in another country, such as Mexico, might frighten somebody. Nonetheless, avoiding car rental problems while vacationing in Mexico can be quite easy as long as you take several things in account.

First of all rent from an international car rental agency instead of relying on a local agency. The internacional agency work better regarding customer service and availability aspects. Normally local agencies do not have the incentive to treat tourists well because they will probably never have the opportunity to use their service again in the future and sometimes do not have as much choice in car models. Also with large international agencies you can set up your rental online or over the phone beforehand. Make sure to print a copy of the document that shows the name of the company, the branch and model of the vehicle, and the price that you were quoted (in dollars and pesos). If there is any discrepancy in price or type of vehicle this should settle any arguments.

When renting a car in Mexico the rental agency will want you to have a credit card. They will need to run the credit card twice, once for the rental and once as a precautionary measure for any damages that may occur to the vehicle while it is in your possession. Once you return the car and an inspection shows it is in it's previous condition you should make sure to get the second blank charge slip returned or destroyed in your presence. If all you have is a debit card you will probably be charged a deposit, but ther is a chance that such a transaction will limit your withdrawal capability on that card.

Do not accept a vehicle from a rental office that is not in optimum condition. It won't pay to take chances with a vehicle that may break down on a desolate part of highway. In any case, rental services in Mexico offer the same services as they do in the U.S. such as roadside assistance and extra insurance for an additional fee. It is always advisable to take the extra insurance when renting in Mexico especially when you are not very familiar with the language.

On nearly every highway there are green cars driving during the day for any technical assistance. It is always better to wait for that green cars to show up and never accept assistance from people or mecanics in their private car. This help can turn out to be very expensive and sometimes they do not solve your problem. But the green cars they are specially trained for tecnical assistance and they tow you to the next toll station in case they cannot repair your car.

Despite the common belief that renting a car in Mexico is very adventurous because of the traffic problems and the traffic density but when you are outside town it can be relaxing and liberating to explore Mexico at your own pace. It is relatively trouble-free and enjoyable as long as you know the best ways to avoid car rental nightmares. Rent from a known international company insteaed of local company because a known brand will provide the best service and least hassles. Protect yourself by being aware of what you are charged and how payments for services are remitted. And maek sure you take the time to inspect your vehicle that you won't have problems when returning it to the agency. Make also sure that the vehicle is reasonably clean and in excellent condition. When following these tips your car rental in your Mexico vacation will avoid nightmares and gives you the pleasure of exploring the country the way you like most.

What Are Some Good Health Tips For Vacationing In Mexico

There are some important tips you should follow when traveling abroad. First of all no one should travel to Mexico or any place outside his home country with a cold or flu. Getting sick and missing work or school can be very inconvenient. But when you are on vacation, the last thing in the world you want or expect is to contract some sort of illness. When traveling for a vacation in Mexico, you should keep in mind these rules and tips that will help to keep you healthy.

It is also important before you leave for your vacation in Mexico be sure to hydrate yourself by drinking lots of fluids. Once you arrive at your destination be sure to drink only distilled or bottled water. Climate and altitude changes can have an effect on your body. Take in account that when you arrive in Mexico City you will get off the airplane at about 2400m above sea level. Therefore it is necessary to give your body time to acclimatize to its new environment and don't go overboard your first day in Mexico. Eat sparingly the first day and only what your body is fairly familiar with. Make sure that any fruits or vegetables that you purchase get washed in distilled or bottled water and peel them if possible.

Remember washing your hands often can also keep you remain healthy. Taking along some antibacterial soap would be a wise idea. To go along with that you should have a small first aid kit that would include several different sizes of band-aids, antibacterial ointment, alcohol swabs, and any over the counter pain medication you might need. It is advisable to check with your physician before you leave the country to see if there are any preventative region. This is an important step to take especially if you are over 65 years of age, have an acute or chronic illness, or are pregnant. And any prescription medications you have should be kept in their original bottles with legible labeling that will prevent any misunderstandings. Don't take the medication in your hand back because you might have problems with security check on the airport when leaving your country. Try to pack it in your heavy suitcases.

Try to avoid over-indulgences of alcohol while in Mexico, as this will lower your body's resistance to disease and raise the risk that you may become ill. If you do feel like you are coming down with something seek medical attention immediately and avoid contact with the general population. This is especially true if you are on a cruise ship or staying at a resort that has buffet dining. Besides, you want to be able to remember the great times that you had on vacation, so drinking in moderation would be a good way to keep your senses keen. Sometimes it is difficult because of the hot climate and a good tequila or cool beer invites to satisfy your thirst but it can have a strong effect to your body. You have to keep in mind that the temperature in Mexico is high depending on the season and where you stay for your vacation.

In case you have any food allergies you should be especially careful about what you eat. The Mexican food is delicious but some bodies have to get familiarized with the different food especially hot food. Make sure you inquire of any restaurant staff where you dine about what is in each dish and if there are any items you are allergic to that it may be cooked in.

Many people work hard all year long just to be able to take a week or two off to enjoy relaxing and having fun. No one wants to get sick on his or her vacation, but we have all probably had that experience. becoming ill in a foreign country can have consequences that may be more serious depending on the circumstances, so do what you can to lessen the risks to your health while on vacation in Mexico.

Want to Have This Popular Caribbean Island All to Yourself

Dear Reader,

If you are a passionate scuba diver, there is a place in the southern part of Mexico which is still not so very popular to the crowd as Cancun. And which is a number one secret according to International Living.

The place I'm talking about is the coast of Cozumel Island in the Caribbean waters. The island is only about 12 miles east of Playa del Carmen another hot place in Mexico. The island is perfect for scuba diving lovers, but it is also a perfect place for snorkelers, fishermen and people who want to vacation in the most tranquil beaches on the western side of the island. You'll find crystal-clear waters and powder sands.

In case you like to know more about this beautiful island please, read the international postcard at Dodge the Crowds--Have This Popular Caribbean Island All to Yourself or if you like to know more about the most exotic places in Mexico and the Caribbean Coast you can subscribe to the international living and get more information about investing in Mexico, retiring in Mexico and more.

What Are The Essential Carry Ons When Travel To Mexico

When you are decided taking a vacation to Mexico, you should make a list first on what necessary items you should take with you. The most important things that you just cannot travel without are the legal documents. The next would be the necessary medications, and of course, currency as well as items that will make life away from home much more pleasant, such as skin protection and proper clothing.

In the case of currency I have found out that you get in most cases a better exchange rate when you are in the country. Sometimes it is better to exchange only a small amount of money in your country just for the first few hours if you arrive at night and change the rest when you arrive at the airport or later on in a money exchange or in the bank. If you arrive during the day it is much better to change your money on the airport after arriving. But don't change too much money at once because it can attract some people. Change only the necessary amount for a few days.

First of all, the items you will have to take would be a United States passport if you are from the States. Remember as of January 23, 2007, passports are required for all United States citizens who are traveling outside of the country by air regardless of their destination. And after January 1, 2008 that requirement was extended to both land and sea travel. In case you don't have a passport then you will have to apply in person to one of 9,000 passport acceptance facilities located throughout the U.S.
It is also required to bring two photographs of you, proof of United State's citizenship, and a valid photo ID.

When traveling to Mexico it is also advisable for you to bring your driver's license with you, especially if you plan on driving or renting a car. In some cases a driver's license is required when chartering a boat or renting water sports equipment. A copy of your birth certificate should also be one of the important documents that travel with you. If any unfortunate circumstance comes up, these documents might be essential.

If you travel abroad it is practical to take mostly travelers checks and only some cash on vacation. Traveler checks are protected whereas cash isn't. You can easy replace traveler checks in most of the countries. Cash is much easier to exchange in many places and to use on a daily basis and in the event that both are stolen. But your traveler checks can be easily replaced. Another good way to access your funds while in Mexico is your ATM card. Another useful item to bring is a pre-paid phone card or a pay-as-you-go cell phone. But use it only in case of an emergency.

In case you have to take your daily medications take the correct amount for the time you are on vacation. It is better to take for more days than you are staying abroad in case of an emergency or canceled flights or whatever can occur when you are outside of the country. If you have prescribed medication, be sure that the prescription medication labels are legible and that they have your name on them. Sunscreen is an essential item to pack because the sunshine down south in Mexico is more intense than in most places in the United States and you may sunburn easier than you think.

Another helpful item that you can take on your vacation to Mexico would be a small first aid kit. If you are not familiarized with the Spanish Language a pocket sized Spanish-English dictionary or a small electronic dictionary is very useful and can help you out in some cases where the English language is not spoken. A good pair of walking shoes can be very helpful especially if you are enjoying walking in the afternoon or at night. Mostly comfortable and casual clothing should be packed although there usually is an occasion for dressing up for a posh dinner or a night on the town. And lastly, don't forget to bring your sunglasses and a hat will be very useful for any prolonged exposure out of doors (especially if you are without natural covering like me).

Always remember that it pays to be prepared. That's why you always should make a list on what to pack for your trip. This way you begin to pack for your vacation to Mexico you will remember to pack the essentials first and then you can include your collection of cabana wear, your rhinestone flip flops and those loud crying Hawaiian shirts.

The Exotic Pearl On The Mexican Pacific Coast

I don't think that I overact when I say that most of us have heard of
Puerta Vallarta and it may even bring images and memories to our minds of
tropical scenes and exotic destinations. Many of us remember that this was
where the Love Boat made a stop once a week when it was live on our TVs.

But there may be a question as to what attractions and activities has this
exotic destination on the Pacific coast to offer.
The precious town Puerto Vallarta is located on the West Coast of Mexico,
south of the Baja Peninsula. The weather is beautiful and sunny all year
round and the cost of living is still low, which may be why over why
thousands of Americans own vacation homes there.

Puerta Vallarta may be best known for the elder generation as the location
for the 1964 movie "Night of the Iguana" starring Richard Burton and Ava
Gardner. Actually, most of the scenes were filmed a few minutes drive down
the coast in Mismayola, but walking tours can point out buildings in town
where Burton stayed and had his affair (or one of his marriages with
Elizabeth Taylor. - Who can keep track?) The U.S. media gave a lot of
attention to the couple and to all the infighting among director John
Huston and the film's stars. If Puerta Vallarta was unknown before, this
publicity put Puerto Vallarta on the map. Today, most bus and walking tours
will make some mention of the film and point out applicable sights of
interest.

While there are so many reasons to visit Puerta Vallarta, it is the
beautiful beaches that lure most people to return again and again. Puerto
Vallarta sits on 25 miles of beaches within Banderas Bay, Mexico's largest
bay. Staying on the bay is what opens the possibility of so many different
types of water sports and activities. The large marina is home to an
abundant population of sports fishing boats. Most of the boats can be
chartered to take you to any of the hottest fishing sports, where you can
try the luck with your hand at fighting one of the large fish the area is
known for.

Another quite popular activity is to take a tour out to the island of
Yelapa where you can seem to step back in time and see small village life
as it still exists in Mexico although we live in the 21st century. In
addition to tours, there are many programs available for swimming with
dolphins, a popular resort town activity that has increased tremendously in
recent years. Whale watching has also become a big business in Puerta
Vallarta.

Most resorts in Puerta Vallarta and the surroundings are situated right on
the water and provide all sorts of activities, such as windsurfing,
snorkeling, and kayaking. Of course, you may just like to hunker down under
a palm tree with your favorite adult beverage and shop from all the roving
vendors that carry their articles up and down the beach.

But if lying on the beach all day long drinking and shopping gets a bit
ordinary, you may feel the need to hit the links. There are several
championship quality golf courses in the immediate Puerto Vallarta area.
You can rent Clubs and shoes, so don't worry if you didn't bring any of
your own equipment with you.

For a tropical few days getaway, a family vacation, or an adventure filled
trip, you can bet that you will find something fun to do in Puerto
Vallarta, Mexico. Enjoy your Puerto Vallarta vacation or stay at maximum
you won't regret your stay in this beautiful and exotic destination.

In today's global economy and different money systems in every country there is more and more the trend of traveling light. I mean light in the sense of not having to think about money, about exchange rates, about prices for food and drinks, price for entertainment and so on.
Travel like a jet-set guy. Do not think about anything mentioned above. Just thing about travel, enjoying vacation and live without worrying about money at all.

There are more and more places with all-inclusive in Mexico. You pay only one fee for everything. You pay before you even leave for vacation for all your expenses abroad. Isn't that wonderful? You don't have to think about how much money you need for your drinks, or food or entertainment or sport rentals. Everything is taken care of for you before you even leave your home.

You can enjoy your vacation at your maximum without worries. You just enjoy a new friendship or you spend your time with like-minded people, or you travel with your family and everything your kids may want is already taken care of. You just travel like a king and the only thing you have to think of is how to enjoy your vacation. It might sound too good to be true but it is the best you can have when travel to Mexico. You just take some extra money for some souvenirs you might want to buy outside of the hotel for your friends back home.

This type of vacation is only for people who like to enjoy their vacations and think of living the life in a beautiful country where you have the best beaches, where you can enjoy still nature, where you can make tours to the jungle and even go back in time and visit the most beautiful places of Mayan culture and learn about how they lived hundreds of years ago. You have almost everything in one country. If you want to stay only a few days on the beach and enjoy the beautiful sun or if you want to stay a few weeks and travel through the country and enjoy the hospitality of the Mexican people, you can get all of this in one country without having to leave.

You like to climb mountains, you can do so. You like to travel in the tropics you have enough places to go. You like to take a sun-bath there are beaches on the pacific coast, the Caribbean cost or the golf coast. You like to travel in the desert there is no problem at all.
You like to visit the past and go back to ancient cultures, customs and living style. You like to visit the beautiful colonial style villages and towns there is no limit. You just search on the internet or go to your travel agency and get some places according your vacation ideas.
